The owners of Lloyd and James have accumulated a combined total of sixty years’ business experience, including a 13-year joint-ownership of a multi-award-winning five-star boutique hotel and restaurant on the South-West coast, listed in the Michelin Guide. We have a passion for good food (especially chocolate), outstanding service and integrity.
We are based in St Marychurch, Torquay
We are based in St Marychurch, Torquay, Devon with further locations planned.
We create our chocolate using the finest ingredients, from truffles, ganache, and pralines, to bars and novelty items. Unlike many so-called chocolatiers, we are not a reseller of mass-produced chocolate repacked in branded boxes.
All our chocolate is tempered onsite by our chocolatiers and handcrafted to perfection.
Our fillings use fresh, ethically and where possible locally-sourced ingredients, natural flavourings and minimal use of e-numbers.
Our recipes are unique
Our recipes are unique and we think among the finest in the industry. Our kitchen is visible from the shop floor and you can view and savour the aroma of the chocolate being made when you visit.
You are able to buy our chocolate from us, in-store, via telephone or online, alternatively, we have a small number of approved retailers. We also supply several upscale hotels and businesses in the Devon area.
Our chocolate is certified Fair-Trade
Our chocolate is certified fair-trade, and we appoint suppliers with a strong reputation for sustainability. We do not use palm oil or other cheap fillers and the milk used in our chocolate is from free-range organic cows. Our packaging is 100% recyclable, and the plastic we use is itself manufactured from 30% recycled plastic. Where possible, we used hemp-based cellophane, which is biodegradable and we offer eco-friendly carrier bags.
